Audition smishions.. who needs them!

The past two weeks has been a whirlwind. As per usual we got a few new songs back. “Hurricane” and “Don’t Have Much” are done and posted. We also found a co-producer. I felt it was necessary to have a partner on board. Someone to tell me how to run a theatre set. I only know film and think it would benefit all of us to have someone to direct the director. She has been a wonderful addition and I cannot wait to work with her more closely.

Secondly, we have found and signed with an audio engineer. This is good news to us but bad news to many of you who have kindly offered your services. I am so fortunate to be working with so many talented people and there is no doubt in my mind any one of you could have made this project something amazing. But the fact is I wanted to work with someone in Austin with me. I have too much heart in this project to just send someone some files and hope for the best. I want to be in studio with the engineer as much as possible to see this come to life.

Finally, we had a casting call this weekend. It was an AMAZING! … handful of auditions. I would have liked to have more applicants but the fact that the few we did get were all immensely talented is tough enough. I have some difficult decisions to make and frankly this kind of stuff makes me sick. I don’t like telling people know. Especially those that deserve it and I know are capable. But I can’t hire everyone. So I think we have found about half the DINKs and a number of supporting roles. We have another 4 more roles to find but I think another auditions session would be a waste of time and money. It is all private and virtual auditions from here but I have people in mind for each role!
